Starting with Strengths
I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience supporting children and families since 2005. My specialties include both direct clinical work and leadership in an intensive, field-based program for at-risk youth. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and working with the neurodivergent community. My approach is strength-based, culturally responsive, and rooted in neurodiversity-affirming practices. I believe in meeting clients where they are and partnering with them to build on their capacities toward growth and self-empowerment.
SOCIAL COMMUNICATION AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
For neurodivergent children, I offer a play-based developmental support program focused on social communication, emotional regulation, and relationship-building. Sessions are individualized to help children express themselves in ways that feel natural to them, while practicing collaborative problem-solving, co-regulation strategies, and developing a strong sense of self. These child-led sessions foster trust, build emotional safety, and support children in developing communication skills, such as self advocacy, essential for both personal and social success.
COMMUNITY INTEGRATION SUPPORT
This program is designed to help children thrive in their least restrictive environments, whether at home, school, or in the broader community. Through strength-based, play-based interaction, children build confidence and real-world skills that support authentic engagement with peers, caregivers, educators, and their communities. Activities are structured to help generalize emotional safety and social skills from session work into everyday environments, promoting long-term integration and belonging.
CAREGIVER COACHING AND FAMILY SUPPORT
In addition to direct work with children, I provide caregiver training and consultation to equip families with tools to support their child’s unique needs. These sessions help caregivers to understand their child’s unique communication style and needs, practice co-regulation strategies, and build routines that support emotional and social development across settings. Family involvement is a key component of ensuring consistency and success in the child’s growth and community participation.
